Reasons why you should watch Bridgerton
Here are some reasons to binge watch this insanely popular show:

The perfect way to get away
There are enough of such doses in Bridgerton, making it a suitable binge-watching option. It's hard to watch this opulent period drama without wanting to curl up with a cup of tea and a duvet and start using ridiculously pompous language. The lavish parties, bright costumes, and ridiculously extravagant mansions and palaces surround and soothe you. Furthermore, the characters all have their own endearing quirks that make them a pleasure to watch.

Very stunning, both in terms of set design and costuming.
Everything about Bridgerton is gorgeous, from the picturesque facade of old-fashioned houses to the ostentatious floral costumes of the Featheringtons, and I think this is the main reason why people have fallen in love with it. Seemed like no matter where you looked on television, there was something pretty to take in. Regency clothing never interested me before this show. Puffed sleeves never really appealed to me before, but after seeing that show, I can appreciate them on a whole new level.

All of the sex is fantastic.
The problem with continuously altering the masterpieces from the 19th century or paying explicit respect to them is that the experience becomes tediously predictable. Even if a person has never seen a pyramid in their life, the image of the structure is permanently imprinted in their mind. Certain people can't seem to move on from the era before sex was introduced to the world of costume play.

This groundbreaking use of a colorblind casting process
The representation of persons of color in British historical dramas has been the subject of much debate. Some critics claim it misrepresents the past, while others say it minimizes the sins of racism on purpose. But what's laudable is that people of color are being cast in roles they wouldn't have been considered for in the past.

It has a modern twist on a period drama.
The use of contemporary hit songs was another attempt to update Bridgerton for a new audience. The music was a constant presence throughout the season, by which I mean the time of year when London's upper class socialites attend a plethora of balls where debutantes seek suitable husbands. Yet, there was a wide variety of music being played. The makers gambled that the pop instrumental versions would appeal to a wider audience through the power of memory and song association.
