Tips for Finding the Right Financial Help?

I’ve reached a point where I feel like I need professional guidance managing my money.
Between investments, retirement planning, and just understanding tax stuff, it’s getting a bit much.
But with so many advisors out there, I’m not sure who to trust or where to begin.
Is there a standard qualification I should look for?
Do most people go with large firms or smaller independent advisors?
Also, how do you judge if someone truly has your best interests in mind?
I’ve read that some advisors work on commission does that affect the advice they give?
Would love to hear how others chose their advisor and what made them stick with them.
Any red flags or green flags to watch out for?
