What are the main challenges climbers face during the Island Peak Climbing expedition, and how can they best prepare for them?

Island Peak is an exciting adventure, but it comes with some tough challenges. The high altitude can cause altitude sickness, so it's important to acclimatize properly, drink plenty of water, and take it slow. The final climb includes steep ice walls and glacier crossings, so learning basic mountaineering skills like using ropes, crampons, and an ice axe is helpful. Weather can change quickly, making it very cold and windy, so good gear and proper timing (spring or autumn) are key. The climb also demands strong physical fitness, especially on summit day, which can be very long and tiring. With the right training, gear, and support from experienced guides, most fit trekkers can successfully reach the top and enjoy the incredible views.
